A FUN RUN DURING OUR MASK BREAK AFTER PLAYING "21"
Stem Challenge - Paper airplane design using only 5 paperclips and 1 piece of paper.
Students worked to design their paper airplanes, and then we ran some tests. They were given a new piece of paper and 5 paperclips to try to redesign their airplane before I see them again on Monday! I can't wait to see the re-designs!

Digging into place value
We had some fun outdoors rolling 10-digit numbers then comparing to see who had the largest number. We also have been concentrating on using mathematical language when we compare digits for example, In the number 8,789,975, how much larger is the 7 in the hundred thousands place than the 7 in the tens place?" Proud of my students' efforts!
How about exponents? Let's learn about powers of ten!
Outdoor learning at it's best! Close enough to the building to be able to continue our work on math facts on our Ipads and then extend to a lesson on Base Ten - looking at how we can use exponents to re-write 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 etc.! Great job by all!
Matter - how do we know solids, liquids and gases are matter?
Looking at some experiments that proved that different items had mass and volume. Be sure to ask your child how we proved gas was matter!
